This is how supporters of Charter97.org must act to make the unblocking of the site possible.
One of the leaders of the program named Kalinouski at the University of Warsaw, former Ambassador of Poland to Moldova, Armenia and deputy ambassador to Russia Viktor Ross stated that while commenting on the blocking of Charter97.org:
- "Charter-97" poses a real threat to the Lukashenka regime. The number of views of the site proves it. It testifies that possible actions organized by democratic forces could have pose a great threat to the Lukashenka regime.
For me it is clear why people connected with the site Charter97.org were subject to special repressions and had to leave the country to continue their work abroad.
The authorities of Poland and other Western states should access the impact of Charter97.org on development of the Belarusian democratic society and increase the funding of the resource.
Russian mass media occupy a huge place in the information field of Belarus. They affect the electorate of Lukashenka, make it settle for less. But it is not enough for a developed society. The Belarusians feel the need for media and intelligent people who think and accept a different position in relation to things occurring in the country.
The authorities are trying to close access to an independent point of view in Belarus. But there is opposition, pro-democratic forces and people who support European values. You know, constant dropping wears away a stone, this is how supporters of Charter97.org must act to make the unblocking of the site possible.
It will be recalled that on January 24 the Lukashenka regime blocked an independent information source Charter97.org. The first Deputy Minister of Information Ihar Lutski confirmed the blocking access. The Ministry of Information is headed by Aliaksandr Karlyukevich.
