Rally In Support Of Charter-97 Held In New York

The protesters held the rally near the consulate of Belarus.

On February 4, a picket against the suppression of freedom and human rights in Belarus, and in support of the democratic forces that oppose the anti-national dictatorship was held near the consulate of Belarus in Manhattan (New York).

The picket brought up topics relating to the blocking of the Charter 97 website, the renewed version of the law on "parasites", the presence of political prisoners in the country, the persecution of dissenters.

The picket was initiated by the Belarusian-American association Pahonia.

The rally participants were carrying placards "We Are Charter," "Freedom To Charter-97," "You Can’t Fence Off To Truth!"
