A St. Petersburg resident armed with knives attacked visitors to the O'KEY hypermarket in the south of the city. Several people were injured, the suspect was detained.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 25. According to eyewitnesses, the suspect began throwing bottles at people, then grabbed knives and cut several visitors with them and stabbed a security guard twice. They tried to drive him away with improvised means.
According to Mash na Moika, the suspect was identified as a 44-year-old local resident who enjoys fencing. The motive for the attack has not been reported, local media indicate that the suspect was in an inadequate state.
A criminal case has been opened under the article on attempted murder of two or more people. Six people were injured. Four of them were hospitalized, Fontanka reports.
