For the first time, Joe Biden has allowed Ukraine to use American long-range weapons to strike Russia, several Western media outlets report. European missiles will soon follow. Military experts are already shouting that this is a new round of escalation and that we should expect a tough response from the Russian Federation. However, it is completely unclear what this might consist of.

Formally, Ukraine is already firing NATO missiles “at Russian territory”. The truth is that even the Kremlin acknowledges this mostly in words. The media stipulate that Biden's permission is limited: use only in the Kursk region and at specific targets.

But it's not about kilometers — it’s about concepts.

Putin clearly outlined his “boyish” position, but his expectations were “deceived” again. In his world of “bandits and law-enforcers”, Putin is again a victim and only “responds to aggression”.
