The Kremlin wants to ‘achieve its goals.’
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin rejects the option of freezing the war in Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on Wednesday, November 20, propaganda agency RIA Novosti wrote.
He claims that it is ‘important for Moscow to achieve its goals’ of the war in Ukraine, and the freeze option is allegedly unacceptable for the aggressor country.
At the same time, the Russian dictator, according to the spokesman, is ‘ready for contacts for negotiations’ regarding an end to the war in Ukraine, including with US President-elect Donald Trump.
Earlier on November 20, Reuters wrote, citing sources, that Putin was ready to discuss a ceasefire agreement in Ukraine with Trump, but ruled out any significant territorial concessions and demanded from Kyiv to give up its ambitions to join NATO. According to media reports, Russia may agree to a freezing of the conflict and withdrawal of troops from small areas in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions.
