“Plus Trump will shake China and finish off Iran, also most likely in terms of oil. Therefore, Russia is not in for the best time. At least, the Russian Federation will not be able to get by thanks to the reasonable actions of the Russian government, as it has in the last two years. We must give credit to the government and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation — they worked very well to cushion the crisis and accelerate the economy. They did many things correctly, by the way, unlike our economic bloc,” the expert noted.

According to him, everything depends on how quickly Trump will be able to collapse oil prices. If he does this already in the first quarter of 2025, when he comes to power, at least set the trend, then already in the third quarter the Russians will have significant problems.

“Oil trade is not giving Russia what it wants now, since intermediaries take a lot (Russia transports oil through third parties to India), and if Ukraine also finishes off ports, for example, the port of Novorossiysk, it will become even more interesting for the Russians,” Zagorodniy said.

He stresses that Ukraine seems to be accumulating resources for such strikes. According to him, this is what is needed.

“The SSU is systematically destroying oil refineries. They even hit a gunpowder plant in the Bryansk region. The Defence Intelligence hit the Caspian Sea — Ukraine is already operating in three seas. If the port in Novorossiysk is destroyed, it will completely destroy Russia's ability to export oil. After all, the port in Novorossiysk is almost the only warm port for the Russians, and if they lose it, it will threaten them with big problems in exporting and importing any products,” Zagorodniy added.
