Political Prisoner Andrzej Poczobut Held In Cell-Type Premises

One of the leaders of the independent Union of Poles in Belarus, political prisoner and journalist Andrzej Poczobut is held in the cell-type facility, the Pravo Imejut Telegram channel writes.

According to the channel, the journalist is currently in the Navapolatsk colony. He receives letters from his relatives, and sometimes a lawyer is allowed to see the political prisoner. This became known at the last action of solidarity with Poczobut in Białystok.

In February 2023, Andrzej Poczobut was sentenced to 8 years in prison, he was charged under articles on “inciting hatred” (Part 3 of Article 130 of the Criminal Code) and “calls for actions aimed at causing harm to national security” (Article 361-3 of the Criminal Code).
