Reuters: Russia Attacks Dnipro With Ballistic Missile Without Explosives On November 21

The missile carried moulages of warheads, the damage from which is ‘very insignificant’.

A ‘new’ ballistic missile fired by Russia at Dnipro last week carried several warheads without explosives and caused ‘insignificant damage’. Two high-ranking sources in the Ukrainian government said this, Reuters reported.

One of the agency's interlocutors said the missile carried moulages of warheads, the damage from which was ‘very insignificant’.

‘In this case (the missile) was without explosives... There were no explosions like we expected. There was something, but not very powerful,’ a second source told Reuters.

Experts explain that the absence of explosives in the missile's head section, which normally carries a warhead, could mean performance testing devices. Such devices are used during missile technology tests. However, whether the Russian missile was fitted with such equipment is not yet known.

‘I would say it's an incredibly expensive way to deliver something that probably won't do much damage,’ said expert Jeffrey Lewis.

The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine from Astrakhan region in the morning of November 21, it was flying towards Dnipro.

On the same day, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said in an address that Russian forces had attacked Dnipro with the latest medium-range Oreshnik system, about which there was no previous information.
