Biden: Israel And Hezbollah Have Finally Agreed On Ceasefire

Israel will gradually withdraw its troops from Lebanese territory within 60 days.

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to cease hostilities. This was announced on the Х social network by US President Joe Biden.

According to him, the ceasefire agreement came into effect on Wednesday night.

“Today, I have good news to report from the Middle East. I have spoken to the Prime Ministers of Lebanon and Israel. And I am pleased to announce: they have accepted the United States’ proposal to end the devastating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah,” Biden wrote on X.

He added that the US expects the ceasefire agreements to be indefinite.

Israel is expected to gradually withdraw its troops from Lebanon over the next 60 days. Meanwhile, the Lebanese army will deploy its forces in the region. But Hezbollah will cease its armed presence along the border south of the Litani River.

Thus, the decision guarantees Israel's protection from the threat from the Lebanese group Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations operating from Lebanon, the White House reports.
