Zakharova: The US Wants To Overthrow Lukashenka

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry scares the Belarusian dictator.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the US State Department's recommendation not to travel to Belarus an attempt to destabilize the situation and an attempt to overthrow the regime of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. This was stated by the representative of the Russian department, Maria Zakharova.

“We characterize this latest similar statement made by the US as a provocation. This is not the first such statement by the US State Department. Washington made similar so-called warnings, for example, in August 2023. This is their favorite tactic,” Zakharova said.

Notably, after the US called on its citizens to immediately leave Belarus, Russian media began writing about a possible coup d'état in Belarus.
