Poland Imposes Sanctions Against 'Hrodna Azot' Exporter Company

The country was receiving sanctioned urea.

On the last day of 2024, Poland imposed national sanctions against the Cypriot company Rostumel Holding Limited, an exporter of Hrodna Azot products. This was a target="_blank" href=https://www.gov.pl/web/kas/kas-zwalcza-nielegalny-przywoz-nawozow-z-bialorusi>reported by the Polish Ministry of Finance.

The Polish government concluded that this company was engaged in illegal trade in the EU and import to Poland of urea (aka carbamide), which is produced at Hrodna Azot.

“By purchasing products from Hrodna Azot OJSC, Rostumel Holding Limited violates sanctions restrictions, which include a ban on the import and export of Belarusian products from enterprises under sanctions.

After Hrodna Azot was included in the EU sanctions list, the company stopped exporting to Poland. However, exports began to be carried out through other entities, including Rostumel Holding Limited,” the document reads.
