Lukashenka Wants To Build New NPP Near Mahiliou

The Astravets NPP has been out of service for over a month.

Lukashenka wants to build another NPP in Belarus. It could be built south of Mahiliou. The dictator said this during a visit to MAZ.

“Either we expand the one in Astravets, or we have another internationally recognized site south of Mahiliou where we can build... a station,” Lukashenka said.

It should be noted that the Belarusian NPP has been out of service for over a month. The first power unit of the Belarusian NPP has been undergoing “scheduled maintenance” since early December. The second power unit was under maintenance in the summer and autumn, and was connected to the grid in mid-October. But something went wrong.
