The operation is named Iron Wall.
On Tuesday, January 21, Israel launched an anti-terror operation in the city of Jenin in the northern West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on X that the military operation is called Iron Wall and aims to "root out terrorism" in the city.
"This is another step towards achieving our goal of strengthening security in Judea and Samaria. We act systematically and decisively against the Iranian axis wherever it reaches out - in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Judea and Samaria - and with an outstretched hand," he wrote.
On January 19, a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect in the Gaza Strip. At the same time, Netanyahu said that day that Israel reserves the right to resume the fight against Hamas if the agreement fails and assured that the United States will support this position.
