Trump spoke about Russia's main problems.
US President Donald Trump once again emphasized that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky wants to conclude a peace agreement, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has significant problems in his country's economy.
He said this during a conversation with journalists at the White House, CNN reports.
“He (Putin — edit.) should make a deal. I think he’s destroying Russia by not making a deal,” Trump repeated, mentioning Russia's economic problems and inflation, which is approaching 10%.
He also noted that the details of the meeting with Putin were still being agreed upon.
“Could be very soon. The war Ukraine and Russia should have never started,” Trump added.
“He (Putin — edit.) can’t be thrilled. He’s not doing so well. I mean, he’s grinding it out… it’s not making him look very good… I think he would be well off to end that war,” Trump summarized.
It is important to note that after his inauguration, Trump stated that Putin was destroying Russia by refusing to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine.
