SBU Major General: Russia Could Trigger Massive Volcano From Within

Russia is an unstable state, implicated in phobias.
US President Donald Trump instructed the Special Representative for Ukraine, Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg, to end Ukraine's war with Russia in a hundred days.
Are the deadlines realistic? Charter97.org spoke about this with the former Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Reserve Major General Viktor Yahun:
— These are unrealistic deadlines. This is a general, not a diplomat, and this general in diplomatic work is not perceived by Russia as a negotiator at all. He can be just a communicator, nothing more.
That is not a problem. The problem is that Russia doesn't want to. Russia does not understand what is wanted of it, because everyone ignores its demands. They proposed four points, and these four points are so absurd that no one is even going to discuss them. Therefore, stopping a war in 100 days is about the same as stopping it in 24 hours.
— Judging by the latest statements, Putin is not going to negotiate. What leverages does Trump have?
— There are a huge number of leverages. I think that after everyone understands that Russia will not make any concessions, even certain contacts, everything will go completely bad for Russia. Where did these 100 days come from: 100 days is near May 9. This is the day that Russians want to celebrate — "Victory Day".
In this vein, they want negotiations to bring Ukraine to its knees. How to bring Ukraine to its knees? I just can't imagine it. Or how Ukraine can dissolve the army and say "that's it, we will not fight, the whole territory is yours, do what you want." There are moments that are simply non-negotiable.
— Today, there is a lot of talk about negotiations, but little talk about the consequences of the end of the war for Russia. These are millions who have passed through the front, the transfer of the economy from military to peace. What processes can face Russia?
— Russia is a state created on lies and mythology. When you constantly lie to your people, for example, about the fact that Hitler started the war, the question arises: what was the Soviet Union doing with Hitler in Brest in 1939? What kind of parade was it? What was that all about? What kind of agreements were signed in August 1939 between the USSR and Germany? Tell the truth!"
Their total lies always result in some phantoms that come to the light from time to time, as happened in the late 80s and 90s. Now the Russians have a slightly different situation, they have cheated the population too much. I read one document from a meeting of the St. Petersburg's City Council, where issues related to the destruction of stray dogs were discussed. And there is a person seriously, and no one stopped him, speaks and says that if you want to kill someone, then go to Ukraine and kill Ukrainians.
The level of hatred towards Ukraine has risen to such an extent that Ukrainians are nothing, and stray dogs need to be protected. Against this background, it will be very difficult for them to change it abruptly. All these may collapse at some point. And someone will say, "Wait, what happened before that? How, we did not win, we did not destroy Ukraine? Who won? Did we win or did they win?”
There may not be a social explosion, but at least some distrust of the authorities. When there is distrust of the authorities, when the authorities cannot manage the whole process, there may be extreme forces that will say: "We can do things differently, we can bring everything to the end, but let's think, maybe it's time for us to change our leader." These points are not related to democratic changes, but to changes in a completely different direction.
Therefore, some social explosions in Russia may occur, especially against the background of the economy, impoverishment and destruction of communal services. The Russians say they will freeze Europe, but in fact they freeze themselves. There will be a huge number of people who will come and demand compensation for their participation in this weird war. And ideas like "we did not send you there, why did you receive the money, and we did not receive it, you earned it there undeservedly" will appear.
I think these are all small explosive fountains that can unite into one huge volcano that will blow everything from the inside. How all this will end for Russia is its problem. This is an unstable state, implicated in so many phobias.
If you look from the outside at the so-called "Russian values" against the background of a huge number of migrants of different nationalities and religions, while taking into account that the Orthodox have not constituted the majority in Russia for a long time, this can be fraught with danger for them. I would not advise them to make any sudden movements. Although for me, the worse it is in Russia, the better it is for me, for all of us in Ukraine.
