According to UNIAN information from sources in the special services, although the Russian Defense Ministry announced the downing of eight drones, eyewitnesses recorded about ten explosions on video. After them, strong fires began in different places of the oil refinery.
"Local law enforcement officers quickly cordoned off the oil refinery area in order to prevent numerous eyewitnesses from entering the territory who could confirm the accuracy of the drones' hits, as was the case the previous time, on the night of January 24. Then, there was also an effective attack by good drones on the Ryazan Oil Refinery. Numerous videos and photos on social networks with comments from local residents confirmed the hit and detonation of large containers with oil products," UNIAN sources note.
They also added that the Ryazan Oil Refinery has a declared oil product processing capacity of up to 17 million tons per year, making it one of the largest oil refineries in Russia.
"Some of the oil products produced are supplied to the Russian armed forces, and some are exported. The oil refinery is located more than 450 kilometers from the Ukrainian border," UNIAN sources added.
