Ukrainian Tank Shatters Enemy BMD From 30-Meter Distance In Chasiv Yar

Powerful footage from the Ukrainian military.

The battles for Chasiv Yar once again highlighted the advantage of Ukrainian tanks in the battle with enemy armored vehicles. After 10 months of fighting for Chasiv Yar, the enemy army managed to advance in the central part of the city, writes Forbes.

Using their advantage in tanks, soldiers from the 24th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered into close combat with the enemy landing force.

At the beginning of this week, the enemy landing force decided to land in the center of Chasiv Yar. Two enemy BMD-4 infantry vehicles decided to land the landing force, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck with a rocket-propelled grenade, and the second BMD was shot at point-blank range by a T-72 tank.

“The battle for the city continues,” the 24th Mechanized Brigade reported. It would have been unusual earlier in the war for a Ukrainian tank to fight that close. The last time such a battle took place was in 2024 in the Kursk region, when a Ukrainian Armed Forces tank also struck enemy armored vehicles from close range.

Now it is difficult for tanks to fight on the front line, as it is literally teeming with drones, which is why the enemy army is increasingly switching to vehicles, and mainly uses armored vehicles in the Kursk region.

Russian drones are not as effective as Ukrainian ones in most cases, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have good electronic warfare capabilities. While Putin's army hides its armor, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have an advantage in battles like the one at Chasovy Yar.

Russian regiments may be reluctant to risk their remaining tanks, but they clearly have no such qualms when it comes to risking the less powerful BMD combat vehicles and their infantry passengers.
