A Ukrainian MP took a swipe at the dictator at the PACE meeting.
On January 30, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) unanimously adopted a resolution entitled “The Urgent Need for Free and Fair Elections in Belarus”. All 79 PACE members who took part in the vote voted for this document.
During the debate, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko explained why Lukashenka is organizing repressions against Belarusians:
— But, unfortunately, he does not like people, so he beats them, puts them in prison, drives them out of the country. I remembered Umka because the dog marked the polling station. And this is the best illustration of these so-called elections.
In reality, Belarus is an occupied country. And Lukashenka is nothing more than a puppet in Putin's hands. Putin can even replace him with that Pomeranian, because Umka is clearly smarter than Lukashenka.
Honcharenko emphasized that Belarus today is a springboard for Putin and a danger for everyone “on this continent”. In his opinion, resolutions alone are not enough; it is time for action.
