Six people were injured in an explosion at an explosives factory in the town of Javali Viejo in southeastern Spain on Thursday, 30 January.

The incident occurred at the factory of the Rheinmetall Expal Munitions company, which specialises in the production of artillery ammunition, mortar shells and medium calibre shells, as well as rocket propulsion systems.
Firefighters from the Murcia Provincial Fire and Rescue Department, police and environmentalists were called to the scene following an alarm from the factory in the afternoon.
The detonation at the plant caused two fires, one of which engulfed about 1,000 and the other about 2,000 square metres of shrubbery near the plant. Both fires are now under control.
Six men aged between 30 and 52 were injured in the incident. Five were hospitalised in hospitals in Murcia with burns, smoke inhalation and head injuries, while the sixth was treated on the spot.
Spanish authorities have meanwhile launched an investigation into the incident.
