Belarusian officer: Lukashenka Wanted To Send Troops To Kyiv

The Ukrainian forces managed to disrupt the dictator's plans.

In an interview with American blogger Lex Fridman, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that in the first days of the war, they had a conversation with Lukashenka.

The Belarusian dictator offered the Ukrainian president to strike at the Mazyr refinery. What is behind this statement? The Charter97.org website spoke to a Belarusian officer about this on condition of anonymity:

— Lukashenka wanted to get a reason to join the war. The so-called "casus belli". Imagine that Ukraine hits the Mazyr refinery, and several dozen or even hundreds of workers burn in the fire. This is an excellent occasion and picture to send doubting Belarusians to war.

Lukashenka thought that the Russians would easily take Kyiv, and at the final stage, he would send several thousand of his SSO officers there to clean up.

Here, after all, two of his qualities fought in him. Any dictator wants "military glory". It's not just that he wears the uniform of the Generalissimo. I think Lukashenka would like to go down in history as the "liberator of Kyiv". Cowardice, on the other hand. He would wait until the last moment, so that there was no danger that his “military operation” would not go according to plan.

There is a famous historical example that is studied in military universities. To the last, Mussolini did not enter the war against France on the side of Hitler. Only after the Nazis entered Paris did the Italian fascists launch an offensive against France. And with varying success. The French gave a strong rebuff, but the Italians did not succeed. Hitler had to force Petain's collaborationist government to sign a peace treaty with Italy.

So did Lukashenka. He believed that the Russians would take Kyiv, and waited for the resistance to be broken, he only needed a reason to enter the war. However, "Kyiv did not happen in three days." The Ukrainian forces fought back, Lukashenka also backed down and chickened out. Now the war for him is a terrible dream.
