A Belarusian Groza-S electronic warfare station against UAVs, based on a minibus, was found in Sudan. It was used by rebels from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) group. The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) discovered the station when they captured a large RSF base north of Khartoum, military.africa reports.
The RSF is a paramilitary organization created in 2013 based on a pro-government militia. Until 2023, it was subordinate to the government of Sudan, but in April 2023, it entered into conflict with the Armed Forces. The media wrote that the group was supported by weapons by the Wagner PMC, but Yevgeny Prigozhin stated that the PMC was not involved in the conflict in Sudan.
On January 27, photos and videos of a destroyed electronic warfare station appeared on social networks, identified as Groza-S, manufactured by KB Radar. It was reported that a drone hit it during fighting near the Al-Jili oil refinery. Groza-S was developed in 2016 and is used to detect and intercept UAVs by jamming navigation equipment. Its range is up to 40 km.
