Ukrainians Blow Up One Of Largest Russian Gas Processing Centres

Drones attacked a plant near Astrakhan.

On the night of February 3, a drone attack was recorded at one of the largest gas processing centres in Russia in Astrakhan region. Eyewitnesses reported the work of air defence systems and signs of fire on the territory of the plant, the BAZA telegram channel reported. Fire brigades were sent to the site of the incident.

The telegram channel of Astrakhan governor Igor Babushkin wrote at 04:33 Minsk time that at night the Ukrainian side tried to attack fuel and energy complex facilities.

The target of the attack was the Astrakhan gas processing plant (AGPZ), which is part of Gazprom Pererabotka LLC. It is one of the key enterprises of Russia's fuel and energy complex.

The plant processes up to 12 billion cubic metres of gas annually, producing ready gas, gas condensate, sulphur and gasoline. Today, AGPZ not only plays a strategic role in the gas industry, but also remains one of the largest gas processing centres in Russia.
