Ukrainian Drone Attack Shuts Down One Of Gazprom's Largest Plants

The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant is the largest producer of sulfur for explosives.

Another raid by Ukrainian drones on Russian regions has shut down one of the largest plants of the state corporation Gazprom.

The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant, which produces gasoline and diesel fuel and is also Russia's main producer of sulfur for explosives, has suspended operations, said the region's governor, Igor Babushkin.

According to him, production processes at the plant, which processes more than 8,000 tons of gas condensate daily, were stopped in advance — before the attack that caused the fire. “The process of shutting down the field was carried out in a routine manner, without threatening the lives of personnel,” Babushkin's press service said. The plant's employees were sent to a bomb shelter, notes VChK-OGPU.
