American representatives are already heading to Russia to discuss the terms of a ceasefire in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said.

“People are heading to Russia right now, we hope that we can achieve a truce,” he said.

On March 11, 2025, nine-hour talks ended in Jeddah, during which Ukraine expressed its readiness for a 30-day truce with Russia. On the American side, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz participated in the talks. They emphasized that further steps depended on Russia's reaction to this proposal. In response to Kyiv's agreement to a truce, the United States announced the resumption of military assistance and the exchange of intelligence information.
