President Of European Commission Confirms Extension Of Sanctions Against Russia

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen confirmed the extension of sanctions against Russia. She reported this on her page on the social network X.

According to her, the EU approved sanctions against almost 2,400 individuals and legal entities due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Von der Leyen added that the European Union has imposed the following restrictions:

travel bans;

asset freezes;

a ban on financing/resources.

“Our commitment to support Ukraine is unwavering,” she noted.

Earlier, CBS News reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump was strengthening sanctions against Russia. In particular, the US is imposing additional restrictions on the Russian oil, gas and banking sectors by further restricting Russia's access to US payment systems.
