Rubio Calls Baltic States Ideal Allies

Baltic ministers visited Washington on 25 March.
During their visit to Washington on 25 March, the Baltic Foreign Ministers met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. During the meeting, issues important for the security of the Baltic States and the war between Ukraine and Russia were discussed. The Baltic ministers' visit to Washington took place at Rubio's invitation.
Rubio praised the Baltic States' cooperation and especially their contribution to defence, reports the Latvian service of rus.lsm.lv.
He was also invited to visit the Baltic States.
Speaking to Latvian public media after the meeting, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže said that during the talks there was a full confirmation of the strategic partnership from both the Baltic States and the US.
‘We are, as Rubio said, perfect allies in all spheres - in relation to the US, in relation to investments in defence, in energy independence, in relation to Euro-Atlantic cooperation, China's activities in cyberspace,’ Braže said.
Asked if she still had the feeling that the U.S. was listening to the Baltic states and that Rubio understood the security concerns, Braže said, ‘Yes, unequivocally.’
