‘Zelensky Hit One Of The Kremlin’s Sorest Spots’

Political Analyst Explains the Reason Behind Putin’s “Outburst”

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin lashed out with claims about the "illegitimacy" of Ukraine’s authorities and demanded external control over the country, reportedly in response to remarks made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Russian political strategist Stanislav Belkovsky shared this opinion during a broadcast on the “I Gryanul Grem” YouTube channel.

Belkovsky emphasized that Putin’s controversial statement was a direct reaction to Zelensky’s words.

"That morning, Zelensky made several remarks that were unpleasant or, rather, painful for Putin… He said that Putin is old and will die soon, and that when he does, everything will be over. Since every authoritarian leader has an age complex, Putin is doubly sensitive to discussions about his age, impending death, and the potential collapse of Russia. He is already inclined to believe that even if Russia does not completely fall apart, political stability as it was under him will not persist after his departure. So, in this case, Zelensky hit one of the most painful nerves. This is typical of any autocrat who has been in power for too long and has no intention of stepping down. Stalin told his associates in his final years: 'Without me, you will perish,’” Belkovsky explained.

He clarified that Putin’s reaction was an emotional outburst rather than a statement to be analyzed for substantive meaning.
