Expert: The Russian Front Could Collapse This Year

Under one condition.

The Russian front could collapse as early as this year—if Ukraine receives sufficient support from its partners.

This opinion was expressed by military and political analyst Olekasndr Kovalenko from the "Information Resistance" group during a chat onGlavred. According to him, this condition could be the key catalyst.

"We are already conducting systematic counterattacks, and they are happening in multiple directions. This is the result of the depletion of Russian occupiers throughout 2024. We have not counterattacked in Ukraine's combat zones in 2024 as actively as we are doing now," Kovalenko noted.

According to him, all of this indicates that Russian forces are exhausted and can no longer afford major offensives. At a certain point, they may also struggle to maintain defensive operations.

"But everything depends on support from our partners, which is why aid from the U.S. is crucial. Without American assistance, we can manage—we can hold the defense and sometimes counterattack. But when it comes to a counteroffensive, we need U.S. support. Only with backing from the U.S. can we launch counteroffensive operations in 2025—that’s the truth. But it’s too early to talk about that for now," the military-political analyst stated.
