Analysts report Ukrainian successes on two sections of the front.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces have recently advanced in the northwestern part of Russia’s Belgorod region, the aggressor country. This was reported by analysts from the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Geolocated footage from March 29 confirms that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have advanced into the eastern part of the settlement of Popovka. At the same time, Russian bloggers have reported ongoing UAF attacks near the village and the neighboring Demidovka.
Additionally, Russian sources reported UAF counterattacks near Chasiv Yar and Kotlyarivka in the Donetsk region and near Stepove and Shcherbaky in the Zaporizhzhia region.
ISW analysts confirmed Ukrainian successes in the Pokrovsk sector, where, according to geolocated footage, the UAF advanced west of Shevchenko.

However, the enemy has also made gains in this and other areas of the front. Geolocated footage from March 29 confirms Russian occupation forces' success southwest of Kotlyarivka and east of Bohdanivka, as well as their capture of Preobrazhenka.
The occupiers have intensified their attacks in this area and are likely attempting to advance along the highway connecting Pokrovsk to Kostiantynivka, as well as southwest of Pokrovsk toward the administrative border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
"However, Russian forces do not appear to be focusing on attacking Pokrovsk itself or its immediate surroundings, while Ukrainian forces continue localized counterattacks just south of the city," the report states.
Additionally, enemy troops recently advanced on the western outskirts of Toretsk, west of Toretsk, and north of Druzhba. The enemy has also achieved gains in the Kupiansk direction, where Russian forces have advanced north of Stepova Novoselivka.
