He had no less than two guns in his possession.

In the Russian city of Murmansk on the evening of 30 March, an unidentified man opened fire on Russians from the roof of a multi-storey building. He had at least two weapons and fired for more than two hours before law enforcers managed to reach the shooter, according to the Russian media.

This was reported by Russian news channels. The Governor of the Murmansk region Andrei Chibis confirmed the shooting and said that law enforcers are working to neutralise the unknown man.

It is preliminary known that the gunman fired from the roof of a dormitory near Kola Avenue. Eyewitnesses said about at least 20 shots from a rifle or hunting carbine. It is noted that special forces tried to storm the roof of the apartment block for a long time, but they encountered a problem - the exit to the roof was one, and that was intentionally blocked. It is known about the victims of the shooting and about broken windows in flats and cars, because the unknown man first of all shot the Russians who were on the balconies and near the window openings, as well as near the cars; when the law enforcers arrived, he transferred the fire to them and ran from carbine to carbine, so the special forces could not approach the house for a long time.

According to the latest information, the man is now in serious condition in hospital.
