New Details Emerge About the Shooting at Russian Police in Murmansk

A local resident opened fire.

The gunman who shot at Russian police in Murmansk turned out to be a local resident born in 1981. A criminal case has been initiated for attempted murder of law enforcement officers, the regional Investigative Committee reported on March 31, releasing a video from the rooftop where the shooter was positioned.

The incident took place on the evening of March 30, 2025, on Kolskiy Avenue. According to the investigation, the 44-year-old man, while on the roof of building No. 10, began shooting at a patrol service crew. During the operation to apprehend him, he was fatally shot by security forces. The motives behind the Murmansk resident’s actions have not yet been disclosed.

Investigators are working at the scene. Two firearms have been seized during the examination. Necessary forensic tests and other procedural actions are currently underway.
