Major Cable Supplier Goes Bankrupt Due to a Debt of Over $5 Million

Over $5 Million.

The company Torimex Plus, a large cable supplier, has gone bankrupt with a debt of nearly 18 million rubles (over $5 million). While the company name may not be familiar to non-specialists, the bankruptcy case is noteworthy and even strange for a couple of reasons.

First, the amount of the debt — almost 18 million rubles. Second, because at the legal address of the bankrupt company, another company with a similar name and the same line of business continues to operate. Additionally, information about both companies can be found on their website. The court decision to open bankruptcy proceedings has been posted in the EGRSB, writes OL.

According to court records, LLC Torimex Plus was registered in 2020 in the village of Borovlyany at 40 Let Pobedy Street, building 27/4. Its founders are two individuals — a citizen of Lithuania and a citizen of Belarus. Since November 2024, the company has been undergoing liquidation.

In court, it was stated that the company owes about 17.9 million rubles, including: more than 651 thousand rubles in taxes, over 4 thousand rubles to the Social Protection Fund (FSZN), and 15.3 thousand rubles in employee salaries. The company’s assets amount to 9.1 million rubles, with nearly 8.7 million rubles in accounts receivable.

The company was involved in supplying cable products, mostly of Russian origin, to Belarus. How it accumulated such large debts in this business remains a mystery.

The most interesting part is that on its website, the company's certificates and documents are listed alongside information about ALC Torex, a company described as "the leading supplier of cable products in Belarus for over 23 years." This company is located at the same address as the bankrupt one.

In any case, the Economic Court of the Minsk Region has opened the bankruptcy case of LLC Torimex Plus, with the first hearing scheduled for July 8.
