DONALD TRUMP
Here comes the moment of truth for Trump.
After Putin in front of the whole world told Trump where to get off with his ‘peace plan’ and announced that he would be ‘finishing off’ Ukraine, the White House was silent for a long time. Only now Trump has finally responded by saying he will announce secondary sanctions against Russian oil if Putin refuses a ceasefire.
This was announced, however, not by Trump himself, but by journalists who had allegedly spoken to Trump. I am convinced that this was done for a reason. After all, Trump can always backtrack afterwards, saying that the journalists had ‘misunderstood something’. Yet at the same time, a conversation between Trump and Putin has been announced, and then already Trump will have to comment on this conversation personally. So just in a few days we will see Trump's real face, and we will understand his true intentions regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.
We will see it first of all by his actual actions after this conversation. Will he really be playing with Putin in the oil arguments that are killing for the Russian economy? And will he give more weapons to Ukraine, as he promised he would, if Russia does not agree to peace?
There's little faith, of course, in that Trump will stick to all his promises. He changes them too often. We will learn the final answer just in a matter of days, though.
