New Head Of Minsk Region Appointed

He is the former Minister of Energy.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka appointed Aliaksei Kushnarenka, who headed the Ministry of Energy since August 2024, as the head of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee. Kushnarenka's deputy Dzianis Maroz became the minister, Lukashenka's press service reports.

Previously, the Minsk region was headed by Aliaksandr Turchyn, who now heads the government.

Kushnarenka is 49 years old, he was born in Polatsk, worked in various leadership positions in the Vitebskoblgaz system, headed Mogilevoblgaz, before being appointed minister, in 2019-2024 he headed Beltopgaz.

Maroz is 43 years old, he was born in Baku, studied at the Homel State Technical University, later headed Belgiprogaz, in 2016-2021 he headed the Belgiprotopgaz Research Institute, from where he left for the position of a deputy minister.
