A crucial "assignment" has been failed.
A decline in exports of products from Homel region enterprises to Russia, particularly from OJSC Homselmash, has come to light through a document published by Pozirk.
The document in question is a Protocol of Assignments, compiled following a meeting of an interdepartmental working group. It states that the expected export figures to Russia for 2025 are at a "critically low level."
For January and the first quarter of this year, the working group "took note" of the export forecast for Homel region enterprises to Russia, which stands at 82% compared to the same period in 2024. This is the lowest figure in the country.
The likely culprit behind this failure is Homselmash. Similar data has been reported for a number of industrial enterprises, with Homselmash ranking last. The company's export forecast to Russia for January and the first quarter of this year is only 26.9% of last year’s levels.
As a result, the Homel-based enterprise has been assigned the task of "ensuring systematic daily control of the marketing department's work on exports to Russian regions." Notably, at the end of 2024, reports indicated that 85% of Homselmash's exports went to Russia.
Overall, the country’s export risks to Russia are being linked to "an insufficient level of contracted planned export volumes."
Additionally, the document highlights that Homel region is among those that failed to meet their "commitments on deliveries to Russia" based on the results of the first 11 months of 2024.
