A powerful explosion took place in Belgorod region.
A powerful explosion took place in the village of Ivanovskaya Lisitsa, Graivoron district, Belgorod region of Russia on 30 March. According to the local publication of ‘Pepel Belgorod’, the drone attack destroyed an ammunition depot placed by the Russian military in a non-residential apartment building.
Vyacheslav Radchenko, deputy head of the Graivoron district administration, was at the site at the time of the strike and was injured. According to media reports, one Russian serviceman was killed in the incident.
The Warehouse was Located in a Residential Sector
According to journalists, the explosion occurred near a local school - published videos taken from a nearby cemetery show puffs of smoke over the area where, judging by the analysis of the footage and geolocation, the storage base was located. The occupiers organised the warehouse in a non-residential apartment building. Local sources also confirm that the school building was damaged by the shockwave.
Russians often place ammunition in schools and civilian buildings.
While Russian officials were calling it a drone strike, experts point out the difficulty of such an aerial attack - especially given the need to accurately hit the lower floors of the building where the ammunition was likely stored. This requires high precision or the use of a powerful warhead. It is therefore possible that the warehouse was hit by other means, such as artillery fire or MLRS.
There have been no official statements from the AFU General Staff about this operation.
