The adviser to the Polish president named possible measures.

Advisor to the President of Poland, President of the Foundation ‘National Security Institute’ Stanislaw Zaryn urged Polish intelligence and counterintelligence to prepare for the possible arrival of 150 thousand Pakistanis in Belarus, which was announced by Aliaksandr Lukashenka last week. The advisor urged the intelligence services to check the extent to which the statements of the Belarusian dictator could be implemented in the near future.

The Polish counsellor warned that ‘the coming weeks and months could be very active on the border with Belarus.’ Zaryn said in an interview with the Niezalezna.pl portal that Polish border guards had previously detected people on the border with Belarus, who had received tourist or student visas in Belarus.

Minsk's agreement with Islamabad, according to Zaryn, may cause ‘destabilisation and polarisation of Poland’ and increase ‘pressure on the border.’ In this regard, Polish security services, he said, need to ‘consider all scenarios.’

The Polish presidential adviser also accused Russia of being hostile to the West and to Poland itself.

‘What will happen in the coming months will depend on the US approach to Russia and the arrangements related to the war in Ukraine. The trend of deteriorating security in Europe is of a long-term nature, and we need to find an adequate response to it,’ Zaryn said.

He mentioned the following among such adequate responses:

further intensifying the presence of US troops in Poland,

strengthening of NATO's eastern flank and intensifying European assistance,

increased activity in Washington.
