AFU Blow Up Russian Infantry Right In Seversky Donets-Donbass Pipe

An FPV drone connected via fibre optic cable flew over to the Russians.

Soldiers of the 5th separate Kyiv Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine delivered a precision strike against Russian forces taking cover in a pipe of the Seversky Donets - Donbass water channel.

The strike was carried out using an FPV drone with fibre optic control. The video of the attack was published on the brigade's official Facebook page.

According to the information coming in, the entire assault group of Russians was killed. The Russian military used the pipe as a shelter and an accumulation point for infantry in the Kramatorsk direction.

The video shows a drone entering the opening of the pipe, penetrating its depth and exploding right inside the shelter.

The Russian soldiers' attempt to use this shelter again proved fatal for them.

Strike from Within: Uninterrupted Communication in a Confined Space

Ivan Kirilliv, commander of the brigade's reconnaissance battalion, explained that this operation used an FPV drone connected to the operator via a fibre optic cable.

Such technology allows stable communication to be maintained even in confined underground spaces where radio signals are lost.

‘The enemy regularly uses these pipes, including as evacuation routes. But we have adapted - now we can get them even there,’ Kirilliv noted in an interview with ArmyTV.

Tactics out of the Pipe is a Trend in the Russian Army

Using underground pipes as transfer channels and cover has become one of the characteristic tactics of the Russian army. Back in March, during the Kursk campaign, Russian sabotage groups tried to get to Ukrainian positions through the pipes of the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod gas pipeline.

The Ukrainians destroyed one of the groups using artillery and HIMARS cluster rockets. The remaining saboteurs, being deep in the pipe, suffocated due to lack of air and suffered critical lung damage.

Similar tactics were used in the battle for Avdiivka, indicating the systematic use of pipes and communication tunnels to transfer forces and provide cover from attacks.
