This is exactly what the people who, together with Putin, rule Russia today are afraid of.
Putin is proposing a truce to Ukraine for the days marking the anniversary of Germany's capitulation in World War II, in order to hold another victory parade on Red Square on May 9 in the presence of foreign leaders - those who do not have the honor and conscience to refuse to stand on the podium with an international criminal who unleashed a full-scale war in Europe in 2022 and who is openly threatening today with a nuclear attack on populous cities in European countries.
It is impossible to imagine greater cynicism against the backdrop of a war in which hundreds of thousands of people have already died, writes the well-known American analyst and historian Yuri Felshtinsky on Facebook.
Recently, Russia has intensified air raids on Kyiv, the capital of the Ukrainian state. I have repeatedly said and written that this war can only be stopped by air strikes on Moscow. This is the only thing that Putin, who lives in Moscow, and those people who rule Russia together with him today are afraid of. I propose that the Ukrainian side reject the ceasefire offered by Putin for the period of May 8-11, proposing alternative dates: May 1-4, or May 15-18, and launch an air strike on Moscow on May 9, especially since in Europe May 8 is considered the end date of World War II. Stalin came up with May 9 so as not to have a common holiday with his former allies.
