There are a large number of sharks swimming there.
In Israel, after last week's tragic incident at a beach near Hadera Park, when a man was mauled by a shark, the mayor of Hadera urgently contacted the Interior Ministry and the Nature and Parks Authority for instructions. And until they received them, he closed all access roads to that beach.
The Details reported this, citing the Maariv website. The municipality has erected barriers to restrict access to the beach and will take measures to prevent vehicles from entering the area until further notice.
The decision came after the municipality contacted the Interior Ministry and the Nature and Parks Authority and demanded clear and immediate instructions on how to behave on this beach, where bathing is initially prohibited by law. The municipality also asked the police for immediate assistance ahead of the upcoming weekend, which includes Independence Day, when a large influx of visitors to the town's beaches is expected.
The Hadera Municipality, which has long been working to install signs and enforce the ban on swimming at this beach with the help of inspectors, asked the Israel Police to station police officers in the area and marine police in the water "to enforce the prohibition on approaching sharks from the land and sea sides."
"Et - But the municipality does not have the authority to erect fences on the beach and cannot with its power block access to the beach, which is a public domain."
Ben Haim emphasized that if help and clear instructions from the Interior Ministry and the Nature and Parks Authority are not received by Wednesday before Memorial Day, the municipality will call another emergency meeting to discuss how to solve the problem. Hadera Municipality calls on all government agencies responsible for regulating bathing beaches and nature protection to immediately take action and cooperate to prevent bathing in this place.
Reminder, as the website "Details" has already told, videos have appeared on social networks showing the irresponsibility of citizens: despite the ban on bathing on Hadera beaches, some people enter the shark-infested sea.
Saturday morning, vacationers were seen in the sea on Hadera beaches, where a large number of sharks swim. People go into the water to look at the sharks, risking their lives. One of the fishermen told reporters the other day that sharks have been caught on his hook twice.
On the afternoon of April 21, fishermen and vacationers at Nahal Hadera beach saw sharks attacking a swimmer and called emergency services. Rescuers subsequently found the remains of the deceased Petah Tikva resident Barak Tzach (45). Sarit, the victim's widow, said that Barak came from Tiberias after work to Hadera Beach to swim with sharks and videotape them. According to the widow, he did so quite often.
In recent days, citizens have been entering the sea where sharks swim, regardless of the danger. Marine biologists warn citizens against such a step. According to them, the presence of people is unusual for sharks. They can sense danger and attack humans.
