A political analyst pointed out a nuance regarding the Canadian election.

The Liberal Party's victory in Canada's early parliamentary election recently "seemed like unscientific fiction" given the ratings held by the Conservatives.

This was noted by political analyst Roman Shrike.

He added a screenshot of the Conservative (in blue) and Liberal (in red) ratings, noting:

"Here are the Canadian pre-election ratings for interest's sake. The Conservatives were leading themselves just fine. Their ratings were rising, and the government's ratings were falling."

One recalls that Donald Trump then returned to power in the States:

"In November, Donald Trump, who was close to them in terms of slogans, became president of the United States. Conservatives took it with enthusiasm - as a harbinger of future victory."

In return, the American leader began to conduct aggressive rhetoric against Canada, in particular, promoting the idea of 51 states, which caused public outrage. In addition, Trump imposed restrictions and duties that hurt the Canadian economy, in particular - exporters and industrial regions. This not only tarnished the image of the Conservatives, who were seen as Trump's allies, but also gave the Liberals a chance to regain voters' trust.

The analyst pointed to Trump's statements about the 51st state, the U.S. duties and the replacement of Justin Trudeau with Mark Carney, which also affected ratings.

At the end of the day, Shrike writes, the Liberals won the election, "even though three months ago that seemed like unscientific fiction."
